REVIEW: The Future [Dir. Miranda July]

August 17, 2011

The Future

Dir. Miranda July

Starring: Miranda July [probably]

About a year and a half ago I sent Miranda July an e-mail asking her if she’d like to write for the Gupter Puncher zine.

She never replied.

This film is shit.

I don’t give a fuck what Miranda July thinks about the future. I don’t care if she is being ironic or metaphysical, this film is shit.

Nothing happens. She can’t act. The locations are boring. The camera doesn’t even stay straight half the time.

Miranda July wouldn’t know a great zine even if it came up and…

This film is no good. Avoid.

I had to google it to check the film actually exists. That is the kind of state of mind Zizek puts its own members in. God help the rest of the world.

Constant questioning of everything, X Files style. I have to check on my own writings too, to make sure it wasn’t a dream of mine turned into reality by the power of my thoughts.

I’d like to add that everyone should avoid watching One Day. I have no justification. I haven’t read the book. But I hate it already.

Me too. Anne Hathaway is taking over movies without actually earning any of it. At least Miranda July does things when she feels like doing them. I don’t even dislike Hathaway that much. Apart from the oscars, that was bad. Is that really her? The real thing, no core?

Haha, wouldn’t it be funny if Miss July googled herself, came across this review and took it all seriously? They hate me, they really hate me, what do I do now?
