Automatic Assassin | Marc Horne

A cyberpunk space opera about Xolo, a man who replaced his conscience with a machine.

A routine assassination on a synthetic planet gets complicated when Xolo stupidly rescues some kids, gets a bomb in his head (that falls in love with him) and then winds up on the world of kings, brainslaves and electric zombies known as ‘Earth,’ where he is mistaken for a cosmic messiah.

Scribbling on Foucault’s Walls | Quiet Riot Girl

Imagine if Michel Foucault, the great homosexual French Philosopher, had, in fact, had a daughter… This is the story of the girl who wasn’t there.

The story begins with a young girl facing the unhappiness of her family life and the divorce of her parents. It ends with the disintegration of the novel itself. In between there is some cock sucking mixed with French philosophy.

I like your guys’ style. I’m checking out the free ebooks first because I’m cheap 🙂 but I think I’ll be back for more. Keep up the good work. -LW

I know I’m a hypocrite here [I buy e-books, but only cos I have no choice sometimes], but I kinda wish you guys were only dedicated to zines. There’s something…I don’t know…fake or wrong…about e-books. It just seems like such a sterile way to read books…and it is, I’ve felt it myself. But I guess I understand why you do it, even if I don’t like it much. And I did buy Auto Assassin as an e-book so…I don’t know, it’s just an off feeling, that’s all. Forget me.

I know what you mean. Maybe we are going through a transition phase though, and soon everyone will be used to ebooks. The world changes so fast this is one change that we may find harder as we are so used to books, ever since our childhoods (unlike phones, for example which mainly adults use).

We thought about not doing e-books, but changed our minds so people in Greenland could buy our books if they wanted to.

I think if you offered people now the choice between a real book and an e-book, they’d choose the real one. In 20 years, it’ll probably be different. As soon as kids stop reading regular books at school and us adults die out then it’ll change…

…but this is why zine novels are so great. People will always go to cafes and bars, and that’s where we’ll ambush them, now and forever.

A friend recommended me CONCRETE UNDERGROUND, and I read it and I thought it very good. Next, I’m trying STRAY DOG. But first I have some school books I have to read like PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE.

    Fuck that shit 🙂 LOLZ

Such marvelous premises! I am excited to see writers breaking out from the norm. I will be sure to recommend your press to my writing group, once we have finished with “The Help”
